Badges & streaks

22 badges to collect, stars per theme, daily streak. A small dopamine kick that pulls you back.

Any direction, any level

Foxy Lingo works as a matrix: you learn from your own language into another. EN→FR, FR→EN, EN→ES, EN→UK, NL→EN — any combination. Five languages, you pick which way to go.

Each theme (food, animals, travel, family, work, emotions, ...) has about 30 words. Ideal for prepping before a city trip, picking up basic smalltalk with foreign colleagues, or just as a train commute time-filler. Small bites, not a ten-hours-a-week course.

Learning a language with Foxy Lingo β€” your questions

Which languages can I learn in Foxy Lingo?

Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Ukrainian. Any combination works: pick your native language and the target language when starting a session. Handy for picking up basics for a trip or smalltalk with foreign colleagues.

Is Foxy Lingo an alternative to Duolingo?

It shares DNA with Duolingo (short sessions, streaks, gamification) but focuses on vocabulary by theme β€” no long grammar course. Useful as a companion or as a low-barrier starter.

Does the pronunciation sound good?

Yes β€” we use modern speech synthesis that sounds like a real speaker, not a robotic voice. Same quality for everyone, no waiting.

How long does a session take?

A theme takes about 5-10 minutes per mode. Do one theme a day to keep your streak β€” perfect for the train, waiting rooms or a short session before bed.

Is Foxy Lingo suitable for kids?

Yes. Match mode and flashcards work from around age 6-7 (reading required). For very young learners, the listening mode is especially useful.

Is Foxy Lingo free?

Yes, completely free. No ads, no account required, no download. During the alpha phase scores and streaks are not yet persisted and Facebook login (for friend leaderboards) isn't active β€” playing and learning still works for free. Persistent progress arrives in beta.
